Special Mine Services, Inc. announces the pairing of an effective lubricant with its signature line of connectors.
SMS Connectors are now available with Fluid Film®, a laboratory-tested proven lubricant and penetrant for use with a variety of industrial-strength connectors. Used worldwide in numerous industries and applications, Fluid Film® will not dry out and penetrates to the base of all metal to efficiently and effectively lubricate connections while providing corrosion protection from both natural and industrial atmospheres.
Special Mine Services Domestic and International Sales Rep Marshall Girtman says the proven technologies inherent in Fluid Film®, combined with the proven dependability of SMS Connectors, make for a winning combination.
“Special Mine Services has conducted a thorough, independent laboratory analysis of the use of Fluid Film® in tandem with SMS Connectors,” said Girtman. “The findings clearly support that there is no degradation to either the specially formulated rubber compound or the metals used in SMS Connectors. We’re excited to offer Fluid Film® as an approved lubricant and protectant for our complete line of connectors.”
Girtman adds that the long-lasting Fluid Film® lubricant is a non-toxic and non-hazardous rust preventative. The product is also environmentally friendly and will not freeze.
For SMS’ Lever-Action series of connectors, the coupling process produces a strong suction, making it difficult to separate the connectors. Fluid Film® provides a lubricant along the surface of the connectors, making the coupling and separation process easier. For the SMS ¾-Turn Uni-Lock connectors, Fluid Film® also provides surface-level lubrication, reducing the degree dirt, dust and grime build-up in the grooves of the connector.
“This non-toxic film will not readily dry out or become tacky, making it ideal for long-lasting lubrication and metal preservation,” Girtman said.
